Tourism sector to create 80 000 jobs for 2010
Courtesy: South Africa: The Good News This is according to a skills audit by the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism (DEAT). The audit indicated that over the next three years, the industry will require about 24 100 cooks and chefs, 23 500 waiters and waitresses, 15 000 cleaners, 7 800 cashiers and 8000 managerial staff.

The local tourism sector is growing steadily, offering great job opportunities, and scope for entrepreneurs to make their mark The most widely accepted definition of a tourist, says the World Tourism Organisation, is someone who travels away from his or her home for more than one day, and less than one year.
